About Us
The Bird Feeder Guide is an independent, reader-supported site that helps backyard birders choose feeders, food and accessories. We compare manufacturer specs, Amazon listings and published research, and we tell you plainly when we have not tested something ourselves.
Updated October 2026

Every article is published by The Bird Feeder Guide Editorial Team. We write buying guides, comparisons and how-to articles on smart camera feeders, squirrel-proofing, feeder types, bird food, placement and feeder care.
We are not a lab and we do not claim to be. We do not invent staff biographies, credentials or test results. When an article rests on hands-on testing, it says so; otherwise it is a research roundup and is labeled that way.
Each recommendation goes through the same four steps.
We open the product's Amazon listing and confirm the exact model, its ASIN and that it is currently sold before we write about it.
Camera resolution, battery size, Wi-Fi bands, capacity and warranty come from the manufacturer's listing. When a spec is not stated, we write "not stated" instead of guessing.
For bird behavior and feeding advice we cite authoritative sources such as university and conservation organizations, and list them at the bottom of the article.
Each article shows an updated date. Roundups are reviewed about every 90 days, reviews and comparisons about every 180 days and evergreen how-tos about once a year.
We do not publish prices or star ratings, because they change daily and go out of date. We do not accept payment for placement. We do not claim first-hand testing we have not done. We do not hide that a link earns us a commission.
The Bird Feeder Guide is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you buy through links on our site we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Commissions never decide what we recommend or how we rank products. If a better option is not on Amazon, we still say so.
Tell us about wrong specs, broken links or outdated advice. We review every correction and update the article with a new date.
